Quick update for those who are wondering. I’m 85% or so recovered from my surgery. Doc took a look at me again today and thinks things are progressing nicely. Thinks I should be fine for departing early next month.

As I said yesterday I got video of the endoscope which the doctor used to poke around in my sinuses. Particularly interesting to me was as he was pulling out the packing, which is a hard feeling to describe and yet I’m not sure if it needs description if you watch the video. [...]

Just thought people would want to know that. I’m something of an oozer, which the doctor says is normal, but has me a bit worried. I’m likely being overly cautious, but with thoughts of medical care in burundi, I think it pays to be so.

From which I learned that the packing that is causing me so much misery, isn’t prefered by some doctors. They apparently have “Dissolvable Sinus Dressings”, which can just be suctioned out after a week and doesn’t cause as much discomfort as the packings. I should have asked about this before the operation of course,

And it was intentional too.  I’m recovering at home now, and I’ll write what I can before I take my pain meds and become incoherent again.
