I’ve got two new pages that I just put up, they are my place for Open Street Maps and the Garmin image file that I compiled that works on many Garmin handheld GPS devices. Open Street Maps tells the story of why I’ve spent some time on this. The image file contains [...]

I was hunting through my spam box looking for a piece of real email and saw the first line of this email which tickled me.

What to say…
They’ve pleaded, oozed, destroyed, tricked, manipulated, fired randomly, and [...]

So I have a job. It’s a starter job, but it’s a good start. I’m a Designer with appfrica.org, which is a shop here in Uganda founded by Jon Gosier, another American here in k’la, which is an incubator software design shop. I say incubator as he’s been hiring locals, talented programmers [...]

Several years ago I took an international relations course at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, it was an intro course taught (I think) by Alan Lamborn, which changed the face of my political understanding. It was in this course that I first began to understand politics and it’s impact on our lives. He [...]

So in my renewed job hunt, I ran across this blog post that I found rather interesting. I was intrigued because in my experience, most people assume application of technology is universal. (i.e. if it works in America then it’ll work anywhere.) Having been in places where that universal application breaks for [...]

As I haven’t posted in a while, I thought people might like to know what’s going on. I’m in Kampala, Uganda, as my 3 month tourist visa in South Africa was up. I’m staying with a friend of my brother’s here while I hunt for a job in eastern africa, and perhaps debate a return [...]

In other news, Mother Earth News is doing a spread on Joel Salatin of Polyface farms fame and they’ll be featuring five of photos from my trip to Polyface farms last year. You may remember Polyface farms and Salatin from Micheal Pollans’ The Omnivore’s Dilemma.
I don’t know what the articles looks like, nor do [...]
